I just started reading San Diego-based running expert, Jason Karp's recent book, "The Inner Runner." This book is filled with wisdom-- from thought provoking stories, inspirational interviews, facts and first-hand expert advice to help take your running to the next level.
I run regularly but I haven't run a marathon in several years and have recently set some trail running goals. Reading this book is already proving to be such a confirmation that embracing running from the age of ten well into my adulthood has been one of the best endurance building meditative tools that I use on a regular basis.
Running continuously nurtures my mind, body and spirit and it is exciting to read about the lives of others and what running has done for them regardless of the challenges that life can offer.
With only weeks until the holiday season, I see this book as an excellent gift for both new and seasoned runners.
Other books written by Dr. Karp include Running for Women; 101 Winning Racing Strategies for Runners; Running a Marathon for Dummies and several others. Check out www.Run-fit.com for details.
